Corrosion inhibitors
Corrosion Inhibitors are the backbone of modern water based metalworking fluid technology. It is a fact that water accelerates the corrosion processes in metals, but with the right combination of Polartech additives this effect can be minimised.
The three distinct product lines are designed to meet customer formulatory requirements in developing solutions against specific applicational needs. Extensive testing and development programs ensures these products are readily compatible with a variety of additive systems and base fluids.
BA™ Series
Borate esters are used to provide excellent ferrous corrosion protection in a wide variety of water based fluids, from full synthetic to high oil content products. The BA™ range of borate esters gives the choice of boron content and amine combinations to suit local regulatory and customer requirements. The positive benefits of reserve alkalinity, long term stability and corrosion protection give added value to finished products.
DA™ Series
Primarily utilized as ferrous corrosion inhibitors the DA™ series of products are particularly suited to synthetic and semi-synthetic formulations. They are soluble in water, glycol and polyglycol fluids. The DA™ series of products show exceptional ferrous corrosion protection and are based on combinations of amines and mono, di and poly-carboxylic acids.
Multitect™ Series
Multitect™ products are specialty corrosion inhibitors specifically developed for use on either non-ferrous applications or formulatory unique ferrous applications. Utilizing a wide variety of chemistries with varying functionality, the Multitect™ series of products have the ability to enhance corrosion protection on a variety of feedstocks and in various types of formulations. As the ideal partner to the BA™ and DA™ series additives the Multitect™ series of products show exceptional performance at low concentrations.
