Polartech Limited is a UK based international company specialising in the design, manufacture and supply of metalworking fluids and other oil, chemical and water-based systems.
Polartech Limited fully recognises and understands the necessity to protect the environment in which we live. It is the Company's policy to reduce and minimise the environmental consequences of our activities and to safeguard the environment wherever we conduct our business. We achive this by adopting and implementing a series of principles, objectives, and environmental management procedures.
Our policy commitment includes the sourcing of raw materials and use of energy through to the formulating, manufacture, distribution and recommendation for use of our products.
Our environmental performance is controlled by a set of principles, objectives and control procedures which are intended to ensure:-
- Compliance with environmental law and regulations.
- Our operations are conducted in a manner which respects the quality of the environment and prevents pollution.
- A quick and effective response to any environmental incident involving Polartech Ltd facilities, equipment or products under our control.
- Effective procedures and equipment for environmental protection are maintained, consistent with available technology.
- Wherever possible, product formulations are designed to encourage inherent improvement in the protection of the environment.
- Realistic objectives are set to achieve continual improvement of environmental performance.
- Adequate training programmes are provided as necessary in order to involve the workforce fully in the process of environmental management and achievement of the Company's objectives.
- Cooperation, wherever possible, with national and local governments and regulators in analysing environmental issues, investigating problems and developing cost-effective, scientifically-based environmental standards.
- A statement of the Company's Environmental Policy, key aspects of performance, and plans for further improvement, is published on an annual basis.
This Policy will be reviewed periodically to reflect changes in legislative requirements, industrial standards, environmental concerns, and the Company's commitment to continual improvement.
The Company's Chief Executive has the ultimate responsibility for the implementation of the Policy, and Departmental Directors and Managers are responsible to him for achieving that Policy.
The environmental management system of Polartech Limited is based upon the requirements of ISO 14001 and EMAS.
